When to use

When you want feedback in the end of a team session.

Why you should

To learn what worked well, has potential or can be improved but it does not go into depth.

What you get

An understanding of the experiences of the participants.

Steps to take

1

Find a template (links below) or create your own to use in the excercise.

2

Set a timer for 10-15 minutes. During this time each participant writes down their evaluation in simple terms.

3

When timer is up, each team member shares their thoughts, in turn. Either, the facilitator should take notes on a board, or each participant place their pre-prepared thoughts on the relevant spot as they present.

Further reading

The retrospective should be a safe place, and presenters should not be interrupted when sharing their thoughts. This way, processes in projects can be improved and people are encouraged to share concerns or give credit where it is due.
